Swallows vs Black Aces Preview

Volkswagen Dobsonville Stadium | Friday 30th August 2013 | 20:00 | ABSA Premiership

To Win (90 Min)

Swallows 6/10

Black Aces 4/1

Draw 28/10

If we were to play a word association game here, I would be screaming ‘LERATO CHABANGU’ back at you before you had time to finish your sentence.

Itu Khune was probably tested more from him on Tuesday night then most games he’s played for the national side.

This two-man show kept Swallows in with a winning chance all evening and Chiefs from conceding three points at home.

With Chabangu thoroughly deserving his place in the Bafana squad, I’m looking at him to grow from strength to strength this season, starting with this clash.

Black Aces had a good showing away from home, sneaking a 90th minute winner to beat AmaZulu (much to my dismay).

As predicted, Mabhuti Khenyeza caused early problems for Usuthu, despite Omar Hendricks’ bullet of an opening goal stealing the headlines. He also assisted in creating the winner, after his shot got deflected leaving Themba Zwane to knock in the winner.

Whilst I would back Swallows at home normally, the odds on offer bring out the chancer in me.

Swallows don’t have a great record at home to Aces, having won, drawn and lost once in their three previous meeting.

Betting Prediction:

With the Dube Birds at a very short 6/10, which is probably a result of their showing against Chiefs, Aces are at a massive 4/1 to take it, whilst the draw is at 28/10. As a stand alone bet, an Aces win would be a big upset, but one worth a small punt. If you’re playing exotics however, fork up a little more and play the field here. If there is an upset, you’re going to be in for some huge dividends should the rest of your legs come through.
