Swallows FC have appointed Dylan Kerr as their new head coach, the club announced on their Twitter account.
The Soweto club posted a picture on their Twitter handle with Kerr receiving a Swallows jersey from club chairman David Mogashoa.
“Welcome to the nest coach Dylan Kerr, let’s fly again,” Swallows official Panyaza Lesufi wrote on his personal Twitter account welcoming the Englishman.
The club have moved on swiftly after previous coach Brandon Truter and his entire technical team were relieved of their duties on Sunday following a 3-1 defeat to Soweto rivals Kaizer Chiefs.
Kerr takes over a Swallows outfit that sits rock bottom in the DStv Premiership standings having only won once in 12 matches so far this campaign.
The 54-year-old Kerr is known for helping struggling sides having guided teams to safety in the last three seasons.
He has moved Black Leopards and Baroka FC away from the relegation zone in previous campaigns while also helping Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila beat the drop and winning the Nedbank Cup last season.
Kerr’s first game as Swallows head coach will be against Maritzburg United on Saturday where the Soweto club will be looking to snap a three-match losing streak.
