SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt looking for cover up front

SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt is on the lookout for two strikers ahead of the new Betway Premiership season.

The club has lost a number of players this off-season including talented attacker Shandre Campbell.

On loan frontman, Etiosa Ighodaro left the club to join AmaZulu in a similar deal while top striker Bradley Grobler has picked up an injury in pre-season.

Grobler suffered a knock in the 3-1 loss to Orlando Pirates in their MTN8 quarter-final last month and is expected to be out for at least four months.

Hunt said in the Sowetan: “We’ve got to bring two [strikers]. We’ve got nothing. We are struggling there. We lost Ighodaro and we lost Bradley, so it’s a big blow.”

Hunt, however, insisted that Zakhele Lepasa, who also spent some time on loan at SuperSport recently from Orlando Pirates, is not on their radar.

“I read about the interest in Zakhele Lepasa yesterday in the media. It was news to me as well, that’s the first time I have heard about it. I didn’t know anything about it,” he explained.

SuperSport play Mamelodi Sundowns in their first game of the new league season on September 17.
