Both SuperSport United and Sekhukhune United suffered group stage exits from the CAF Confederation Cup following draws on Sunday.

SuperSport United 1-1 Modern Future

SuperSport United were eliminated from the CAF Confederation Cup following their 1-1 draw with Modern Future on Sunday afternoon.

Matsatsantsa headed into the game needing all three points to stay in the competition.

They propped up Group A with just three points from five previous ties and currently sit bottom with four points, and one match to play but with no way of catching leaders USM Alger (10) or second placed Modern Future (8). Al Hilal Benghazi are in third with six points.

The Egyptian side opened the scoring through Ali Zaza on the half-hour mark and before SuperSport responded with an equalising header from Tendamudzimu Matodzi on 69 minutes.

Sekhukhune United 0-0 RSB Berkane

Sekhukhune United also saw their CAF Confederation Cup adventure end after a goalless draw with Group D leaders RSB Berkane.

Neither side was able to break the deadlock at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium, and Sekhukhune’s job was made that much harder after Jamie Webber saw red on 42 minutes.

The DStv Premiership side have one game still to play but can’t finish higher than third, as they currently have five points from five games. Berkane lead second-placed Stade Malien by one point on 11 as Diables Noirs prop up the group with a single point.
