ABSA Premiership | Saturday 21 September | Loftus Stadium | 18:00
To Win (90 Min)
Sundowns 19/20
Bidvest Wits 3/1
Draw 21/10
Not usually considered a big game to watch, these two could stir up one of the games of the weekend.
In the past, Sundowns have been by far the dominant force, but Wits are improving in leaps.
I had my preseason reservations about them, but they sit equal on points with Downs, both only having played four games where most have played five.
A win for either side here would put them top, a great advantage to have early on in the season.
Both sides drew midweek, with Downs’ result being the most disappointing of the two.
We’re going to need to look to game changers in this one, to see who will be able to divide the two sides on the day.
The first one that springs to mind is Cuthbert Malajila, the newbie at Downs after joining them in the off season from Maritzburg United, who is in sublime form.
A great buy by Pitso Mosimane and management, and he’s already reaping dividends early on.
With the home side posing the biggest scoring threat of the two, the result has to be in their favour.
Betting Prediction: Sundowns
Again, I like the halftime-fulltime double, both going the way for Sundowns at 26/10 looks tempting.
