Mamelodi Sundowns made it 11 wins from 11 matches in the DStv Premiership with a 3-0 win over Cape Town Spurs at Loftus on Wednesday evening.
Spurs were sitting back from the get-go and it looked as if their game plan was to frustrate Sundowns.
The first clear chance came Sundowns’ way when Abubaker Nasir turned well in the box and drew a save from Neil Boshoff in the Spurs goal.
The Brazilians had a succession of corners before taking the lead from their third when the ball came out to Sipho Mbule, who fired a superb effort into the back of the net from range.
The hosts made it two on the half-hour mark. The corner dropped for Nasir and after a scramble in the box the ball fell for Grant Kekana, who finished with ease.
Five minutes before half-time Mbule was denied a second by the post after Gaston Sirino had dropped deep to create the opportunity.
Five minutes after the break Lesiba Nku cut in and had a go with the left foot, as it flashed past the upright.
The icing was put on the cake in stoppage time. Quick play and quick passing saw Sundowns go wide and the cross from Lebohang Maboe found Peter Shalulile, who made no mistake.
