Steve Komphela excited for Andile Jali impact at Swallows

Swallows coach Steve Komphela is banking on new signing Andile Jali to remain injury free for the upcoming DStv Premiership season. The 33-year-old former Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder joined the Dube Birds in the off-season. He was a phenomenal campaigner for the Brazilians over the years after signing from KV Oostende but struggled with injuries during the second half of last season. Komphela knows Jali from their time at Sundowns together and knows the impact the player can have on his new team - having himself only just recently joined Swallows. The head coach said in the Sowetan: "He is top, you can't question the quality Andile has. As I said, he always gets a way to influence people. "Jali is always involved. He impacts others. What else do you want? And that is the sign of a top player, but the biggest challenge is that there has to be an output, he must start to perform. We understand the challenges of fitness, pre-season and all that. We hope he won't get injured. "If that happens, then you are guaranteed that he will enjoy football because he makes you enjoy football. Apart from Andile, when we compare him with Phalane, they play the same kind of football, very fluid and easy on the eye but extremely dangerous." Swallows start their season against Golden Arrows at Mpumalanga Stadium on August 5.
