Stellenbosch FC have announced the signing of Chumani Butsaka from Cape Town Spurs on a long-term contract.
The Cape Winelands side are gearing up for their Betway Premiership opener where they will welcome Lamontville Golden Arrows on Wednesday afternoon.
Stellenbosch FC CEO Rob Benadie said: “We are delighted to welcome Chumani to the Club.”
Chumani was featured in 116 matches across all competitions for Spurs where he was also the captain. He scored on his Bafana Bafana debut where they won 2-1 against Madagascar in the 2022 edition of the COSAFA Cup.
“At 22 years of age, he has already made over 100 professional appearances and shown himself to be a leader, which is a testament to his ability and maturity on and off the field of play.
“We congratulate Cape Town Spurs on the excellent development of this player, who we believe will play a key role in the future success of our ambitious Club,” Benadie concluded.
