Orlando Pirates coach Milutin Sredojevic says reports linking him with a switch to the vacant Zamalek job are simply not correct.
Sredojevic has been in charge of Pirates since 2017/18 where he guided the Sea Robbers to a fine recovery.
Last season Bucs finished second in the Premiership, lost in the final of the Telkom Knockout to Baroka and reached the group stages of the CAF Champions League.
Following the sacking of Khaled Galal after just a few games in charge, the White Knights are said to have made an approach for the Serbian’s services.
Speaking to Egyptian website FilGoal.com, he denied he would take the job in the near future: “Orlando [Pirates] did not let me go and coach Zamalek. I spoke with all the Zamalek officials and they talked to me, and [I] apologized to them and explained my position.
“I wanted to coach Zamalek but unfortunately it will not happen now, and Orlando refused to let me do that. I have a year left in my contract with Orlando and I will not be able to do anything.
“It’s not important now to talk about the offer because things are over and I will continue normally with Orlando. I apologize again to Zamalek.”
Bucs are next in action on Saturday when they meet Green Eagles in a CAF Preliminary Round first leg Champions League tie in Zambia.
