Gameweek 10 of La Liga is upon us but before we go there, let’s just take a quick recap of match-day 9. Cristiano Ronaldo continues to score goals like its running out of fashion as the Portuguese Star helped Real Madrid to a 3-1 win to end Celta Vigo’s unbeaten run. There were two hat-tricks scored as Luis Suarez was instrumental in Barcelona’s come from behind 3-1 win at Nou Camp against Eibar, whilst Sevilla’s Kevin Gameiro scored a treble of his own as the Andalusia club demolished Getafe 5-0 at home. Elsewhere, Atletico Madrid scraped a 2-1 win at home against European hopefuls Valencia to climb into third spot. This week’s action kicks off on Friday night with the Atletico looking to keep the pressure on Real Madrid and Barcelona, so let’s get to it.
Friday 30th October
42/10 Deportivo | Draw 24/10 | Atletico Madrid 15/20
Deportivo’s unbeaten run of four matches came to an end last Saturday evening as Malaga claimed a 2-0 home win. They remain sixth on the log after Eibar, Espanyol, Valencia and Real Betis failed to capitalize on their misfortune. They now host an Atletico Madrid side that are on the up with back-to-back wins after seeing off Valencia with a 2-1 home win on Sunday. Atleti have been superb on their travels with three wins and just one draw from four matches, scoring seven goals and conceding just once. Antoine Griesmann is a player that has really come into his own since joining Atletico and he will relish the chance of getting on the scoresheet against the minnows. The away win is one of my best bets for the weekend and definitely one for the multiples.
Saturday 31st October
1/8 Real Madrid | 82/10 | Las Palmas 20/1
Real Madrid are now the only unbeaten team in the league after ousting 10-man Celta Vigo 3-1 in front of their own fans. Madrid have been brilliant on their ground with 3 wins and just one draw from four games, scoring nine goals and conceding none. Las Palmas will hope to be the first side to score a goal at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. However, that looks highly unlucky for a team dwelling in the relegation zone with only one victory from nine matches. They are winless on the road, scoring four goals and conceding 10 times. The home win is a banker bet but offers little value at 1/10.Rather take Madrid to win + Over 3.5 goals at 13/20.
4/10 Valencia | 7/2 | Levante 13/2
Despite the 2-1 loss at Atletico Madrid, Valencia can hold their heads high as they showed great workmanship and put in a good team effort. They return to their home ground, where they remain unbeaten with two wins and two draws from four games, scoring five goals and conceding just once. Second from Bottom-of-the-log Levante can only hope to cause an upset, but hope can only get you so far. Les Granotes are winless away from home, scoring just once and conceding 10 goals. They have lost back-to-back matches against Real Sociedad (4-0) and Real Madrid (3-0). Valencia are tipped to add more misery to Levante’s already dismal start to the season but for the more exotic, back the home team to score in both halves at 5/4.
11/10 Villarreal | 24/10 | Sevilla 24/10
Villarreal are winless in their last three matches, scoring just one goal. A goalless draw away to relegation threatened Las Palmas on Sunday was a terrible result for a team that was just at the top of the log two weeks ago. Sevilla come to town on a high after thumping Getafe 5-0 at home with Kevin Gameiro bagging a hat-trick. Three wins from their last four matches has seen the Andalusia club grow in confidence and they will be hungry to get their first away win of the season. However, if you looking for a more promising bet, take Sevilla on the Double Chance at 13/20.
15/2 Getafe | 9/2 | Barcelona 3/10
Getafe are off the back of a humiliating 5-0 hammering away to Sevilla but return to their fortress where they have won three out of four matches, scoring nine goals and conceding just twice. However, that record will certainly be put to the test when champions Barcelona visit on Saturday evening. Barcelona have won back-to-back matches since their 2-1 defeat at Sevilla. Luis Suarez and Neymar have helped fill the void of Lionel Messi. Since Messi’s injury, Neymar or Suarez have been involved in 14 of Barcelona’s 15 goals in La Liga and Champions League. Take Barca on the Halftime-Fulltime Double at 15/20.
17/10 Real Sociedad | 9/4 | Celta Vigo 16/10
Real Sociedad registered only their second win of the new campaign last time out, but did it in fine fashion as they annihilated Levente 4-0 away from home. A goal in either half saw ex-Arsenal forward Carlos Vela bag a brace and the Mexican striker will be looking to build on that. Celta Vigo will be looking to return to winning ways following their 3-1 defeat on their turf against Real Madrid. Despite losing the game and going a man-down, Celta Vigo still did well to create opportunities against the log leaders. They are unbeaten on the road with three wins and just one draw from four games. However, Sociedad are unbeaten against Celta Vigo in the last 10 meetings with four wins and six draws. A tight encounter is expected but after Sociedad’s convincing win at Levante, they should have the confidence to get the victory here.

11/10 Eibar | 24/10 | Rayo Vallecano 5/2
Eibar have managed just one victory from their last seven matches after going down 3-1 at Barcelona. However, they will have the chance to better that record when Rayo Vallecano visit at lunch-time, hoping to make a meal of the under-performing club. Vallecano, however, have struggled on their travels, losing three of their four matches. They do come into the match with a bit of form nonetheless, after thrashing Espanyol 3-0 last week Friday. Vallecano are currently 13th on the log but a win could take them as high as sixth, leapfrogging their opponents. The teams have a lot to play for, which should result in an open and entertaining game, making Both Teams To Score worth a punt at 7/10.
9/10 Espanyol | 24/10 | Granada 31/10
Espanyol have been horrid in recent weeks with three losses from their last four matches. They were ousted 3-0 at Rayo Vallecano last time out and will need a much improved performance albeit facing Granada, who lie at the foot of the table with only six points from nine matches. Granada are winless in their last seven matches and despite only earning a 1-1 draw at home against Real Betis last Saturday, they looked much better away from home against Sporting Gijon in another stalemate, drawing 3-3 the week prior. However, Espanyol have won the last four meetings against Granada and are tipped to be the First Team To Score at 13/20.
13/10 Sporting Gijon | 21/10 | Malaga 9/4
Sporting Gijon are yet to win a match on their ground and are coming off a 3-0 whipping at the hands of Athletic Bilbao on Monday night. Malaga brushed aside Deportivo last weekend with a 2-0 home win; making it consecutive victories on home soil. That is all good and well, but looking at their away form, leaves a lot to be desired. They are yet to score a goal on the road, conceding five times, losing three of their four matches but somehow earning a goalless draw at Real Madrid. Although Malaga have won three of the last four meetings against Gijon, they have just been far too poor on their travels to back them for the win. However, the pair have managed to score in five of the last seven head-to-heads, so Both Teams To Score will be worth a dabble at 19/20.
2/1 Real Betis | 22/10 | Athletic Bilbao 27/20
Real Betis have been inconsistent but are off the back of a hard fought and well-deserved 1-1 draw away to Granada. However, they have lost their last two matches on their ground against Espanyol and Deportivo respectively. Athletic Bilbao are winless on their travels. However, they have impressed in recent weeks and are unbeaten in their last four matches. Bilbao thrashed Sporting Gijon 3-0 on Monday night in convincing fashion and that form looks set to continue.
