Real Madrid are crowned Spanish League champions for a record breaking 35th time, and Los Blancos are in search of putting icing on their cake and eating it when they face Atletico Madrid this Sunday evening at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium. There is a lot more value at stake with a handful of teams battling it out to avoid the drop in this week’s La Liga action, so be sure to check out this gameweek’s 10/1 quad on offer.
Friday 6 May
Levante 19/10
Draw 24/10
Real Sociedad 27/20
(21:00)
While Levante is statistically in the running to remain in La Liga, seven points of making that a reality with just four fixtures remaining you cannot in your right mind bet on it. Real Sociedad have considerably dropped off the pace they set earlier on in the season but are firmly in the pound seats to secure a European finish. Four points clear of seventh-placed Villarreal, and two points short of Real Betis it is Conference or Europa League for the Parakeets, just win all your games. Back Real Sociedad to get the away win.
Saturday 7 May
Mallorca 19/20
Draw 24/10
Granada 29/10
(14:00)
Mallorca were unlucky to not walk away punished in their 2-1 defeat to Barcelona but will also rue missed chances that could have changed the face of the game. Now, just one point clear of relegation the pressure remains arguably insurmountable, and that point clear is against current opposition Granada. Granada’s form on a whole is poor, and the only positive outlook coming into this relegation six pointer is the fact that their last win in the league is away from home against Alaves. I am all over Mallorca in this game to relegate Granada.
Athletic Bilbao 6/10
Draw 29/10
Valencia 46/10
(16:15)
Valencia’s form has been atrocious, and the Copa Del Rey final loss really cemented despondency. The Bats are now six games without a win across all competitions and losing two points to rock bottom Levante last time out is deficient of any fighting spirit. Athletic Bilbao with seemingly nothing but pride to fight for have made it two wins on the bounce against Cadiz (3-2) and more spectacularly against Atletico Madrid (2-0) last time out. Athletic Bilbao now have just one loss in their last 10 home fixtures across all competitions. Back Bilbao to beat the Bats.
Celta Vigo 17/20
Draw 49/20
Alaves 33/10
(18:30)
Alaves could not afford another defeat three fixtures ago, now five points away from securing their spot in the next season of La Liga. Villarreal had all eyes focused on their midweek Champions League tie with Liverpool and Alaves took full advantage winning 2-1 in their last encounter. Celta de Vigo will now face another side fighting for their lives after drawing 1-1 with Granada last time out. Back the draw in this early evening kick off.
Cadiz 17/20
Draw 49/20
Elche 34/10
(18:30)
Cadiz welcome Elche in a scrap to remain in La Liga just one point clear of 18th-placed Granada. Cadiz impressively managed a 1-1 draw against Sevilla last time out after going down a goal in the seventh minute. The home team have showed spirit, scoring in each of their last four defeats. While Elche have managed to go unbeaten in their last three fixtures since losing three in a row during March to show great resolve. Both sides will go at each other tooth and nail here, so I’m backing both teams to score (Yes) at even money.
Real Betis 23/10
Draw 26/10
Barcelona 11/10
(21:00)
Real Betis are slowly letting the Champions League spots slip from their grasp, now three points adrift, after their 0-0 draw with Getafe. Winning the Copa del Rey confirmed their spot in Europa League, but a win at Estadio Benito Villamarin over Barcelona will be the boost to go all the way that Manuel Pellegrini is in search of. Pellegrini knows how to set up his squad to grind out a result, and against Barca he will know exactly how. Barcelona is back to winning ways after defeating Mallorca 2-1 at Camp Nou. The race for the title is over, and Barca are in a reconstructive phase to get back to former glory. With experience like Sergio Busquets back on the scoresheet and Ansu Fati back from a long injury lay off the Catalans can slowly fashion a strong finish to the end of the season. It is however a very tight encounter to call, considering what’s on the line for Betis, so get behind the home side on the draw no bet at 13/10.
Sunday 8 May
Getafe 21/20
Draw 21/10
Rayo Vallecano 3/1
(14:00)
The points were shared in a goalless draw when Getafe welcomed Real Betis to Venue Coliseum Alfonso Perez in matchday 34. Getafe are now five points clear of relegation but will fight on regardless proving that with just two losses in their last five at the hands of Villarreal and Real Madrid. Rayo Vallecano have kept a neat and tidy ship with the possession-based playing style they employ under former player Andoni Iraola who should get his contract renewed come end of season. Drawing 1-1 against Valencia, a 1-0 loss to Alaves, followed by a pair of 1-0 wins over Espanyol and Barcelona and more recently a 1-1 share of the spoils against Real Sociedad. Bet Vallecano win & under 2.5 goals at 54/10.
Villarreal 13/10
Draw 23/10
Sevilla 43/20
(16:15)
Villarreal are in a poor vein of form, even though the fight in the Champions League was valiant to say the least. Losses in the league are testament to how thin the squad is to compete on all fronts and now should be ashamed of dropping seven of a possible 15 points over their last five fixtures. Sevilla is in a similar boat when it comes to form but have the leeway to allow such results all. Sevilla needs eight points from four games to secure Champions League football, and there’s no doubt in my mind they don’t get three of them from Villarreal this weekend, but you can double chance it since they’re away from home.
Espanyol 14/10
Draw 9/4
Osasuna 39/20
(18:30)
Espanyol did what Espanyol do at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, lose convincingly. It is now three straight losses for the home side, four in their last five with just two goals registered in just as many games. Osasuna are higher up, in the top half of the table than Espanyol with two wins, a 1-1 draw in their last fixture and two losses to Real Betis and Real Madrid. Osasuna will be in search of their third victory over Espanyol this weekend with a home victory in the books as well as a Copa Del Rey triumph. I am confident the away team will get the job done.
Atletico Madrid 27/20
Draw 24/10
Real Madrid 19/10
(21:00)
Atletico Madrid duo Jose Gimenez and Jan Oblak have suggested the squad won’t be willing to give Real Madrid a guard of honour before their derby clash next weekend. Gimenez said, “A guard of honour to Real Madrid? We congratulate them, but we have a lot of respect for our fans.”
Real Madrid have now clinched a record breaking 35th Spanish League title, and their first match as champions will be against arch enemies Atletico Madrid. There will be no love lost or gained when they clash at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium this Sunday evening.
Los Blancos have won nine of their last 10 La Liga fixtures whereas, their rivals Atletico are without a win in their last two. Back The champions to put icing on their cake with a win over Atleti.
TREBLE @ 62/10
Real Sociedad Win 27/20
Athletic Bilbao Win 6/10
Cadiz/Elche BTTS (Yes) @ 1/1
Sevilla Draw/Win Double Chance at 11/20
