Tuesday 19 April

Tuesday night saw three teams go at it with every side looking to finish the season on a high note. A big win for Mallorca against Alaves in a relegation six pointer brought them out of the bottom three, followed by both Copa Del Rey finalists suffering defeats without scoring. Real Betis dominated the game but paid the price for missed opportunities when Tete Morente netted for Elche in the 82nd minute to steal the game via their only shot on target. On the other end of Spain, Copa Del Rey finalists Valencia was put to bed early by Champions League semifinalists Villarreal thanks to an Arnaut Danjuma brace – 10th minute penalty and 17th minute strike neatly pocketed in the bottom right corner.

Wednesday 20 April
On Wednesday night, Atletico Madrid came out more attacking than they did against Man City the week before, but still failed to convert chances drawing 0-0 with Granada picking up just a point and will now hand Barcelona the opportunity to take back second place. Celta Vigo gave Getafe their first away win of the season, as the Azulones put in a terrific performance to secure a 0-2 away win. Finally, La Liga log leaders Real Madrid earned three points in a hard-fought win against Osasuna without goals from Karim Benzema who failed to convert two penalties in a 1-3 away victory.

Thursday 21 April

Espanyol 31/20
Draw 2/1
Rayo Vallecano 39/20
(19:00)
Rayo Vallecano travel to the RCDE Stadium to lighten the burden of a relegation battle. Vallecano are currently 14th on the table, five points clear of the drop, but recent results have not been favourable, without a win in their last 10 league fixtures. A 1-0 loss to 10th placed Alaves last time out did not inspire any confidence to back the travelling side this gameweek. Espanyol have lost their last two away games to tough opposition in Atletico Madrid (2-1) and Real Sociedad (1-0), but the home record inspires the punter to fully back the great price on offer. Three straight wins to nil over Celta Vigo, Mallorca, and Getafe, preceded by back-to-back draws against Sevilla and Barcelona. Get strongly behind Espanyol on the Draw No Bet at 8/10.
Levante  5/2
Draw 9/4
Sevilla 11/10
(19:00)
Levante and Sevilla tussle it out in an all-important battle for three points. Levante make a last-ditch effort at avoiding relegation, while Sevilla need the full compliment to secure a UEFA Champions League spot. The home side are 19th on the table, four points behind 17th Granada, while the Sevillistas sit fourth, but not comfortably, only three above fifth Real Betis.

The Frogs netted four goals over the weekend, with Roberto Soldado putting the final nail in the coffin against Granada, while Sevilla molded a valiant effort on home soil against Real Madrid who stole the game in second half stoppage time courtesy of Benzema, 2-3 the final scoreline. Sevilla have had a tough month, starting with a 1-0 loss to Barcelona at the Camp Nou, picked things up with a 4-2 win over Granada, and finally the aforementioned Real Madrid upset. Sevilla have the know how and personnel to finish the month of April on a high note.

Cadiz 22/10
Draw 39/20
Athletic Bilbao 29/20
(20:00)
Relegation threatened Cadiz is in search of back-to-back wins when they host Athletic Bilbao after putting on a smash and grab display against Barcelona, winning 0-1 at the Camp Nou. A win will see them move to 34 points above Mallorca and into 16th place tied on points with Rayo Vallecano (assuming our Espanyol prediction is right). Athletic Bilbao will not make that an easy task, but one win in their last five means the home side are a favourable play here. Take Cadiz on the win/draw double chance here at 5/10 but leave them out of any multiples.

Real Sociedad 9/4
Draw 24/10
Barcelona 11/10
(21:30)
Barcelona are in search of their first win in two games after bowing out of the Europa League in a 2-3 home defeat against German side Eintracht Frankfurt and then losing 0-1 on soil yet again to the hands of relegation contenders Cadiz. The Catalan giants have nothing left to play for this campaign as their champions league spot is all but secured, but coach Xavi Hernandez is a winner and losing will not be accepted in the camp.

Real Sociedad have really put on a display this season, and after two big losses towards the end of February and beginning of March, clean sheets have been on order again conceding just on goal in their last five fixtures. The home team have the propensity to be either or – defensively shambolic or sound as can be.

Against Barcelona, the last two fixtures have been a shambles for Sociedad, with a 4-2 result in favour of Barca early in the season and a 1-6 home defeat last season. Back the totals market of over 2.5 at 17/20.
