Sekhukhune United CEO Jonas Malatjie has made it crystal clear that star midfielder Yusuf Maart “is not for sale” amid rumoured interest from Kaizer Chiefs.
The 26-year-old Maart has emerged as a key player for Sekhukhune this season, having joined the club following his release by Orlando Pirates in 2019.
Maart starred for Bafana Bafana in their recent back-to-back victories over Ethiopia in Group G World Cup qualifiers but has been forced to pull out of the latest squad after sustaining a knee injury.
And his performances for both club and country have not gone unnoticed, with recent reports claiming Chiefs are monitoring his progress with a view to potentially making a transfer offer.
However, Sekhukhune’s CEO has moved quickly to quash talk of an imminent transfer, insisting he has not received an approach for the midfielder.
“The boy is not for sale,” Malatjie told Kickoff.com. “I’m not going to entertain anything.
“I need stability as well so I’m not interested. The boy is mine, we have a four-year contract with him.
“When we heard that he had been released by Orlando Pirates feeder team Pelepele, we signed him right away.
“The boy is not for sale, actually I don’t need any distractions.
“I haven’t been approached by anyone. Besides, even if I do get approached, the boy is not for sale.”
