Sekhukhune United has confirmed the departure of head coach Lehlohonolo Seema when his contract expires at the end of June.
The club placed Seema on “special leave” in May as the league campaign drew to a close despite Sekhukhune laying fourth on the PSL table.
The former Chippa United mentor’s initial suspension came as a shock after he picked up the PSL Coach of the Month award for April after his team collected 15 points from five matches.
Following Seema’s suspension, assistant coach MacDonald Makhubedu, together with Paulos Masehe, saw out Sekhukhune’s final two games of the season.
Sekhukhune said in a statement: “The coach’s contract, which is set to expire on 30 June 2024, will not be extended.
“The club would like to thank Coach Seema for his dedication and hard work during his time with the team and wishes him all of the best in his future endeavours.”
Former Kaizer Chiefs head coach Stuart Baxter has been linked as a possible replacement for Seema.
