Seema: We have to set high standards for ourselves

Golden Arrows head coach Lehlohonolo Seema

Lehlohonolo Seema says he will push for a strong league finish with Golden Arrows this season.

Abafana Bes’thende ended fourth under the guidance of Mandla Ncikazi last term, before his shock switch to Orlando Pirates.
Seema, who steered Chippa United to safety on a short-term deal with the club, has since arrived at Arrows with strong ambitions.
In addition to his primary objective, Seema sees no reason why his side can’t challenge for a trophy, ‘or two’.
Speaking ahead of facing SuperSport United in the MTN8 quarter-finals at the Princess Magogo Stadium on Saturday, Seema says he want to reward Mato Madlala with some silverware.
Seema said in the Sowetan: “There’s one thing we’re looking at this season, to challenge this league and push as far as we can. If the opportunity presents itself like this weekend [MTN8 clash], let’s take a trophy or two and try to reward the chair-lady.
“If we finished in position four last season, we can push for position three, we can push for position two and we can push for position one.
“We have to set high standards for ourselves because expectations are there now. But one thing that I can tell you is that the chair-lady didn’t give me any mandate. This team is capable of surprising a lot of people.”
