Sead Ramovic resigns as TS Galaxy head coach

TS Galaxy head coach Sead Ramovic tendered his resignation after watching his team play to a 1-1 draw against Stellenbosch at Athlone Stadium on Wednesday.

Ramovic’s decision comes after Galaxy extended their winless streak to six matches in the league this season with the draw in Cape Town only their second point of the campaign.

Stellies took the lead as early as the second minute when Fawaaz Basadien found the back of the net after good inter-play from the Cape Winelands outfit.

The visitors came close to equalising midway through the first-half but Sepana Letsoalo saw his header crash into the cross-bar.

The hosts then had a good opportunity to double their lead 10 minutes after the halftime break but Devin Titus saw his effort hit the post from a tight angle.

Galaxy were however much-improved in the second half and deservedly drew level when substitute Nkosikhona Radebe scored from close-range in the 72nd minute after an initial scramble in the box following a set-piece.

Stellenbosch pressed for the winner in the closing stages but made poor decisions in the final third when looking for an extra pass instead of having shots at goal.

The point leaves Stellies fourth in the league standings, nine points behind log leaders Orlando Pirates after seven matches played.

Galaxy remain rock bottom on the log and will now have to search for a new head coach after Ramovic told reporters after the game that he has decided to part ways with the club.

The Rockets do have time until their next fixture when they take on Sekhukhune United on 26 November following the FIFA international break.
