Sead Ramovic has made an impressive start to his tenure as the head coach of Young Africans SC, earning the Coach of the Month Award for December.
The German tactician made his mark in African football after leading TS Galaxy to a sixth-place finish and leading them to the final of the Carling Knockout Cup in the 2023/24 season.
He had a rough start to the 2024/25 season, being eliminated in the opening round of the MTN8 and enduring a string of defeats. This culminated in his resignation, announced live on television, after a 1-1 draw against Stellenbosch FC on 6 November.
The 45-year-old coach took over as Yanga’s head coach on November 15, succeeding Miguel Gamondi.
Despite failing to qualify for the quarterfinals of the CAF Champions League, he has enjoyed a good run in the Tanzanian Premier League securing victories in all five league matches since taking charge.
Ramovic scooped the award after leading Young Africans to victories in four of their December league matches, scoring 16 goals and conceding only two, maintaining pressure on rivals Simba SC.
They are now fully focused on retaining their league title, where they currently trail Fadlu Davids’ Simba SC by one point.
Yanga’s next league match is against KenGold FC on Wednesday, 5 February.
