Napoli forward Lorenzo Insigne has once again hit out at Maurizio Sarri, calling the manager’s move to Juventus “a betrayal”.
After a mixed year in the Premier League with Chelsea, Sarri joined Juventus in June on a three-year contract to replace the departing Massimiliano Allegri.
His move drew anger from Napoli fans, who branded their old manager as a ‘Judas’ type figure following the move to the Allianz Stadium.
Insigne still remains angered by his old boss’ move to Turin after guiding them to three consecutive top-three finishes before leaving for Stamford Bridge last year.
“I said it and I say it again, for us Neapolitans that was a betrayal,” Insigne said during a Q&A session.
“And it will be forever. Now we have to focus on ourselves and try to beat him at all costs. Now that he’s gone to Juve, I don’t want to talk about him anymore.
“The Scudetto is a dream for all of us and we will try once more.”
