Samir Nurkovic says he’s excited to be working under Gavin Hunt at SuperSport United.
The 32-year-old joined Matsatsantsa after his departure from TS Galaxy this week on a one-and-a-half-year deal.
Nurkovic was brought in to supplement a SuperSport side that has struggled with recent injuries, most notably to striker Bradley Grobler.
Nurkovic knows Hunt from their time at Kaizer Chiefs together, where the player scored 21 goals and created 10 in 78 games.
He said on FARPost: “I feel excited and optimistic about working under coach Gavin Hunt again.
“The feeling is amazing, and I’m super excited to work, in my opinion, under one of the best coaches in South Africa.
“Coach Gavin Hunt is known for his strong leadership and ability to bring out the best in his players. This gives me a great opportunity to grow as a player and contribute significantly to the team’s overall success.”
On the impact he hopes to make at SuperSport, Nurkovic added: “The thing I’m most looking forward to at this amazing club is to make an impact on the field, connect with my new teammates and embrace the passion of the fans.
“I’m really honoured and excited to join this fantastic club. I have seen the incredible passion and support the fans bring to every match, and I cannot wait to experience this firsthand.
“I promise to give my all on the field, work tirelessly to contribute to the team’s success, thank you for your warm welcome and unwavering support.”
