Former Mamelodi Sundowns Head Coach Rulani Mokwena has released a heartfelt message to the Masandawana faithful following his shocking departure from the club.
Sundowns released a statement on Wednesday 3 July confirming they have parted ways with the 2023-24 PSL Coach of the Season.
The 37-year-old led the Brazilians to their seventh consecutive DStv Premiership League title as well as the inaugural African Football League (AFL) title.
The former Orlando Pirates tactician was at the helm of Sundowns for 91 games, he won 60, 22 ended in a draw and suffered 9 defeats. He won four trophies and averaged 2.22 points per game which is the highest of any manager that stepped through the Sundowns’ door.
A number of reports suggested the reasons behind Mokwena’s firing was that he failed to fulfil his mandate of winning the CAF Champions League, DStv Premiership, and one domestic cup.
