Royal AM and Richards Bay shoot blanks in KZN derby

Royal AM and Richards Bay could not be separated as they played to a goalless draw in their Betway Premiership KZN derby clash at the Harry Gwala Stadium.

The hosts came into the contest looking to pick up their first win of the campaign but instead played to a third consecutive stalemate.

Richards Bay now sit on four points after three matches having already won and lost a match apiece this season.

Royal AM chairman Andile Mpitsane was once again selected in the starting line-up but did not make an impact in the middle pf park and was hauled off at halftime by head coach John Maduka.

It was the visitors who seemed to want the three points more in the final stages as they pinned the hosts back but could break down a stubborn defence.

Royal AM’s next fixture is away at Magesi on Saturday while for Richards Bay they must prepare to host Soweto giants Orlando Pirates on Sunday.
