Richards Bay to take action against striking goalkeeper Salim Magoola

Richards Bay are yet to decide what action to take against goalkeeper Salim Magoola.

The 28-year-old shotstopper reportedly refused to play for his club in the Carling Knockout clash with Swallows on Sunday.

The Natal Rich Boyz won the match 2-1 at the King Zwelithini Stadium with goals from Abel Mabaso and Yanele Muthumba.

Reserve keeper Philasande Manqele made his debut in the match in the absence of Magoola, who was said to be against wearing an alcohol-branded shirt, due to his religious beliefs.

Richards Bay general manager James Dlamini told the Sowetan: “You can call me tomorrow [today], I will have an answer on what we are going to do.

“We’ve not discussed anything for now. I would be lying if I tell you what steps we are going to take.”
