Richards Bay Pull The Plug On Truter

Richards Bay has decided not to continue with head coach Brandon Truter following a poor start to the Betway Premiership season.

Truter was brought back to the Natal Rich Boyz for the second time after a brief spell with Upington City as Technical Director, having also previously coached AmaZulu and Sekhukhune United.

But he managed just one win in eight league games this term, alongside a quarter-final exit in the Carling Knockout Cup on penalties to Cape Town City.

This decision comes after the club lost 2-1 to Kaizer Chiefs on Wednesday.

Club chairman Jomo Biyela said on SABC Sport: “We did not fire the coach, however for our sanity, it was best that we go our separate ways with our integrity intact.

“The coach did not meet the performance requirements for the season.”

Richards Bay is in 14th place on the current league standings with five points, just two clear of bottom side AmaZulu.
