AmaZulu are reportedly keen to bring former head coach Benni McCarthy back to the Betway Premiership club.
The decision was taken to sack Pablo Franco Martin just three games into the new season with the club yet to pick up a point.
He only joined Usuthu in 2023 and led his team to an 11th-placed finish last term.
McCarthy coached the team to second place in the 2020/21 league campaign but has spent the past few years at Manchester United where he worked as an attacking coach.
AmaZulu Diski Challenge boss Vusimuzi Vilakazi is a reportedly candidate to take up the post.
But SABC Sport reports that AmaZulu are targeting McCarthy to make a sensational return to the club.
They wrote: “The public broadcaster has established that the club is keen to bring McCarthy back to the fold with the confidence that any issues that led to their parting of ways the last time can be ironed out.”
Other potential candidates include Morena Ramoreboli, Bradley Carnell, Stuart Baxter and Muhsin Ertugral.
