
Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly agreed a deal with Stellenbosch FC to buy hotshot forward Ashley Du Preez for a whopping R6 million.
A report from SABC that surfaced on Tuesday the 24th of May stating an agreement has been reached over Du Preez’s transfer.
The 24-year-old has burst into the limelight for Stellies with his blistering pace and lethal finishing ability after finding goals hard to come by in his maiden season in the top-flight last year.
Du Preez has long been linked with a move to the Glamour Boys and according to a report from SABC, he will become Chiefs’ third signing along with Siyethemba Sithebe from AmaZulu as well as Zitha Kwinika also from Stellies.
“SABC Sport understands that Kaizer Chiefs and Stellenbosch FC have reached an agreement in principle over the transfer of young striker Ashley Du Preez.” an SABC report read.
“Several media reports have linked Du Preez with Amakhosi since 2021 and, at one point talk was that Dumisani Zuma would go in the oppositive direction.
“However, SABC Sport now understands that the two (Stellenbosch and the Amakhosi) clubs have agreed to a cash deal.”
