Reeve Frosler relishing chance to shine at left-back

Reeve Frosler

Kaizer Chiefs defender Reeve Frosler has welcomed the opportunity to deputize at left-back in the absence of injured duo Sifiso Hlanti and Sbusiso Mabiliso.

The 23-year-old is most comfortable at right-back but has been called in to fill the void created by the injury-enforced absence of Hlanti and Mabiliso.

Frosler played the full 90 minutes on Sunday as Chiefs clinched a 1-0 victory over Maritzburg United courtesy of Bernard Parker’s second-half goal.

And he is relishing the chance to prove his worth as Chiefs prepare to lock horns with Benni McCarthy’s AmaZulu at FNB Stadium on Wednesday evening.

“I don’t mind playing either right or left, it was just nice to play again and for me personally I hope to keep working hard and to get some more game time,” Frosler told kaizerchiefs.com.

Looking ahead to the crunch clash with Usuthu, Frosler continued: “There’s not been much time to prepare, but we’ve played AmaZulu before and have a good idea of how they play.

“We know a bit about what they have to offer, we will just look to go again on Wednesday and look to get maximum points again.”

Amakhosi head into tonight’s clash in good spirits, having seemingly turned the corner with a record of four wins and one defeat in their last five Premiership fixtures.

They will have the opportunity to silence their doubters as they target a third-straight victory to strengthen their position in the top half of the table.
