The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has unveiled the enticing prize money for the upcoming 2024/25 Betway Premiership season.
The announcement, made during a special meeting on Wednesday, follows the league’s recent multi-year partnership with Betway, a deal worth R900 million to South African football’s top tier.
A highlight of the announcement was the confirmation of a R20 million reward for the eventual league champions.
PSL chairman Dr. Irvin Khoza emphasized the significance of the increased prize money, stating, “The winner of the Betway Premiership will receive R20 million, number one spot.”
This substantial financial incentive is expected to further elevate the competitiveness of the league, with Orlando Pirates currently occupying top spot with 21 points from their opening seven league fixtures.
