Sekhukhune United will need to quickly refocus their efforts towards their DStv Premeirship survival campaign when they host Chippa United on Wednesday.
Lehlohonolo Seema’s side were most recently in CAF Confederation Cup action where they claimed a 2-1 come-from-behind win over Diables Noirs with goals from Kamohelo Sithole and Daniel Cardoso.
It was their first points of the group stage after starting their campaign with a 2-0 loss to RSB Berkane.
They are, meanwhile, struggling at the wrong end of their domestic standings in 13th place, with just four wins from their opening 12 games.
The Chilli Boys are, however, just a point better off in 12th place, having recorded just three victories all season.
Following his side’s recent win, Sekhukhune coach Lehlohonolo Seema, who has previously coached at Chippa, said on iDiski Times: “I’m happy with the effort and we are still not where we want to be but we are heading in the right direction.
“So it’s a game where we had to dig deep and credit must go to the players because there’re players that haven’t played in a long time and when they come in this kind of a game and they fight like that and we still come out with a result it shows that there is a character in this club.”
Chippa are without a win in four league games that includes a goalless draw with Swallows, a 1-1 stalemate at home to AmaZulu, a 2-1 loss at Cape Town City and a goalless draw with Stellenbosch last time out.
