PREVIEW: UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

Here is our preview and predictions for UEFA Champions League Round of 16 Leg 2

On paper the Round of 16 in this year’s UEFA Champions League hasn’t exactly shot the lights out, but given how things stand, I don’t think this week is going to look the way many people think come Thursday morning…

So here’s to some absolute cracking results!

Tuesday 5 March

2/7 Bayern Munich | Draw 46/10 | Lazio 8/1 (22:00)

I am so surprised at what the betting markets look like for this one! I know Bayern Munich have a stacked team, but the data doesn’t suggest they are a shoo-in to win. They have failed to keep a clean sheet for the majority of their home games this season (and in particular during this campaign).

Lazio are yet to win in Germany, however given their one goal advantage and the fragility of the situation in Bavaria – I think backing both teams to score (and for the more adventurous) Lazio to qualify lands.

15/10 Real Sociedad | Draw 47/20 | PSG 33/20 (22:00)

There is nothing about the Sociedad situation that suggests they get anything from this game. they have won just once in their last nine matches and face a PSG side who have won four of their last six away games without even conceding a goal!

I am taking full advantage of the away win at 33/20.

Wednesday 6 March

11/20 Real Madrid | Draw 34/10 | Leipzig 4/1 (22:00)

As a focal point, Real Madrid are yet to lose a game at home in any competition. Los Blancos edged past Leipzig in Germany, but I doubt it will the same sort of affair in the Spanish capital. Their defensive assurances are far too superior and as a result I suspect an easy home win.

Get stuck into the 11/20 on offer.

1/7 Manchester City | Draw 13/2 | Copenhagen 15/1 (22:00)

If Copenhagen were to stand a chance of causing an upset in this fixture, the groundwork would have had to be set when they met in Denmark. Pep Guardiola’s men come into the game with a commanding 3-1 lead and I suspect he might rotate a few key players in lieu of this meeting at Anfield on Sunday.

I say that as though it would be a weakened team…it won’t. I can’t see how Copenhagen cause this City side any issues – back the home win and over 2.5 goals.
