PREVIEW: GERMAN BUNDESLIGA

Bayer Leverkusen are proving they’re the real deal – the best defence in the league, second best goals scored coupled with Serhou Guirassy’s 17 goals, and an undefeated record across all competitions. Thomas Tuchel will be feeling the pressure at Bayern Munich, as the rumours of Jurgen Klopp’s return to the Bundesliga spread like wildfire.

Check out all gameweek 20 predications including a 9/1 quad.

Friday 2 February

29/10 Heidenheimer | Draw 33/10 | Borussia Dortmund 7/10 (21:30)

Kicking off gameweek 20, Heidenheimer and Borussia Dortmund face off having gone undefeated since the start of the year. However, we must note that Dortmund’s three fixtures are wins, conceding just one goal, while the Heidenheimer side has seen three successive 1-1 draws. The home side’s defensive tactics may have held up against Wolfsburg, Hoffenheim, and Cologne, but Dortmund will find a way.

Saturday 3 February

1/7 Bayern Munich | Draw 7/1 | Monchengladbach 13/1 (16:30)

Bayern Munich have stumbled along the way, and with recent news of Jurgen Klopp leaving Liverpool at the end of the season, the rumours of his return to the Bundesliga are spreading like wildfire. Thomas Tuhcel’s time at the pinnacle of German football may be up if he doesn’t turn things around, but against a lacklustre Monchengladbach, I’d back Bayern to win the first half at 9/20.

11/10 Bochum | Draw 49/20 | Augsburg 9/4 (16:30)

Both Bochum and Augsburg ate three goals in their last fixture, but they did fire back with two and one goal respectively. Both teams to score market is nailed on.

7/1 Darmstadt | Draw 46/1 | Bayer Leverkusen 3/10 (16:30)

Bayer Leverkusen are proving they’re the real deal – the best defence in the league, second best goals scored coupled with Serhou Guirassy’s 17 goals, and an undefeated record across all competitions. You can expect Leverkusen to find all three again.

 2/1 Freiburg | Draw 26/10 | Stuttgart 12/10 (16:30)

A hattrick for Deniz Undav to secure a massive 5-2 victory for Stuttgart in a big encounter with RB Leipzig secured their top three position. The double chance on the away side is probable.

1/1 Mainz | Draw 49/20 | Werder Bremen 49/20 (16:30)

Werder Bremen is the value bet of the weekend. After securing a 1-0 victory over Bayern Munich, they showed that they’re not just defensive minded defeating Freiburg 3-1.

 18/10 Cologne | Draw 24/10 | Eintracht Frankfurt 14/10 (19:30)

Cologne has a tough assignment when they welcome sixth placed Eintracht Frankfurt to the RheinEnergieStadion. Without a win for the year, the Billy Goats are desperate, but we must note the head-to-head in this encounter heavily favours the home side. The draw is on the cards.

 Sunday 4 February

1/1 Wolfsburg | Draw 11/4 | Hoffenheim 23/10 (16:30)

Wolfsburg have drawn all three fixtures this year 1-1, and after two straight losses Hoffenheim finally put their first points on the board for 2024 with a 1-1 draw. I think it’s safe to say, another sharing of points should ensue.

4/10 RB Leipzig | Draw 39/10 | Union Berlin 6/1 (18:30)

RB Leipzig’s gung-ho tactics often favour them, but it can sometimes lead to heavy defeats – which we saw last week in their 5-2 loss to Stuttgart. The home team should bounce back against a struggling Union.

QUAD @ 9/1

Dortmund Win 7/10

Leverkusen Win 3/10

Werder Bremen Win 49/20

RB Leipzig Win 4/10
