PREVIEW: GERMAN BUNDESLIGA

Kicking off the gameweek, what seems like the champions in waiting, Bayer Leverkusen, welcome Mainz to continue their rampant run on the German Bundesliga, while Bayern try to play catchup after losing three fixtures in a row for the first time since May 2015.

Check out all gameweek 23 predications including a 43/10 quad.

Friday 23 February

2/9 Bayer Leverkusen | Draw 52/10 | Mainz 11/1 (21:30)

Kicking off the gameweek, what seems like the champions in waiting, Bayer Leverkusen, welcome Mainz to continue their rampant run on the German Bundesliga. After dismantling Bayern Munich and continuing their unbeaten trend in a tight 2-1 win over Heidenheimer, you can comfortably put Leverkusen in all multiples.

Saturday 24 February

19/20 Monchengladbach | Draw 26/10 | Bochum 5/2 (16:30)

Monchengladbach has ebbs and flows of finishing in European spots and midtable, but this season has been far from their consistent selves. After Bochum found a 3-2 victory over Bayern Munich, they will be looking to carry that momentum. Backing both teams to score (yes) is the play.

1/3 Stuttgart | Draw 42/10 | Cologne 7/1 (16:30)

Stuttgart did not disappoint last week as our banker of the weekend. However, one of Stuttgart’s best defenders, Pascal Stenzel, picked up his second yellow late in the second half. The full back offers much going forward let alone his defensive contributions, assisting five goals this campaign. Back Stuttgart to win the first half.

19/20 Union Berlin | Draw 49/20 | Heidenheimer 11/4 (16:30)

Union Berlin has found a vein of rare form this season, losing just one in their last five games keeping three clean sheets in the process. On home soil, Union should maintain a good defensive structure. Back the under 2.5 market.

13/20 Werder Bremen | Draw 3/1 | Darmstadt 39/10 (16:30)

Outside the low odds-on offer for log leaders Leverkusen, Werder Bremen is the banker of the weekend, losing just one out of their last nine games.

13/20 Bayern Munich | Draw 33/10 | RB Leipzig 34/10 (19/30)

Something is going on at Bayern that’s more than meets the eye. Three losses back-to-back across all competitions is an occurrence the German giants are not accustomed to. I would avoid backing Bayern, but if you must have a go, back both teams to score (yes).

Sunday 25 February

11/10 Eintracht Frankfurt | Draw 49/20 | Wolfsburg 9/4 (16:30)

In their last 10 fixtures, Eintracht Frankfurt have only found victory twice when facing Wolfsburg. But both teams have struggled to get across the finish line in five of their last 10 fixtures combined, backing the draw is an option.

 5/10 Borussia Dortmund | Draw 39/10 | Hoffenheim 42/10 (18:30)

Borussia Dortmund have started the year extremely convincingly, and although they shared the points last time out, the win is heavily on the cards against a lacklustre Hoffenheim.

5/4 Augsburg | Draw 5/2 | Freiburg 39/20 (20:30)

To close out the weekend, Augsburg and Freiburg battle it out in the tightest fixture of the weekend. Eighth placed Freiburg have failed to find victory in their last five fixtures but showed great signs in their 3-3 draw last time out, while hosts Augsburg sit higher up the table, failing to win any of their last four, losing 1-0 to relegation threatened Mainz last matchday. While Freiburg’s last showing inspired some confidence, I would play it safer by backing both teams to score (yes) market.

QUAD @ 43/10

Werder Win 13/20
