PREVIEW: GERMAN BUNDESLIGA

Bayer Leverkusen seem on their way to glory after a dominant performance over defending champions Bayern Munich. Five points clear at the top of the Bundesliga table, and undefeated, Xabi Alonso could just make history.

Check out all gameweek 22 predications including a 4/1 quad.

Friday 16 February

29/20 Cologne | Draw 23/10 | Werder Bremen 18/10 (21:30)

Cologne welcome Werder Bremen to open up gameweek 22 in the Bundesliga after their third undefeated fixture in a row. A great start to the year for a side sitting in 16th place, ready to face a Werder side who enter this tie on the back of a disappointing loss. Both teams to score (yes) is the play.

Saturday 17 February

5/1 Darmstadt | Draw 7/2 | Stuttgart 9/20 (16:30)

In a host of Saturday fixtures, Stuttgart is my banker of the weekend. While they may not be challenging for the top honours, they have been the most consistent of the rest.

6/1 Heidenheimer | Draw 42/10 | Bayer Leverkusen 7/20 (16:30)

Bayer Leverkusen seem on their way to glory after a dominant performance over defending champions Bayern Munich. Five points clear at the top of the Bundesliga table, and undefeated, Xabi Alonso could just make history. Put the log leaders in all multiples.

1/1 Hoffenheim | Draw 26/10 | Union Berlin 47/20 (16:30)

As we near the final third of the season, I am sorely disappointed with the drop-off that has happened to Union Berlin. Their current opponent has made themselves difficult to defeat, picking up three draws on the bounce and backing the stalemate in this encounter should prove fruitful.

21/20 Mainz | Draw 49/20 | Augsburg 24/10 (16:30)

Augsburg have picked themselves up after their 3-2 loss to Bayern two game weeks back – 1-1 draw with Bochum, and 2-2 draw with RB Leipzig. However, an away game versus Mainz has not fallen in their favour of recent, losing three out of four. The home win is likely.

39/20 Wolfsburg | Draw 26/10 | Borussia Dortmund 12/10 (19:30)

Dortmund keeps making improvements, week in, week out. Last matchday I criticized their form in front of goal and praised their defensive work since the start of the year, only for Borussia to net three goals and maintain yet another clean sheet against Freiburg. Get strongly behind the away side.

4/10 RB Leipzig | Draw 42/10 | Monchengladbach 54/10 (16:30)

After facing Real Madrid midweek, RB Leipzig must make some wholesale changes heading into weekend. However, Monchengladbach has struggled since the turn of the year, winning just one out of five, scoring just two goals in four fixtures. Back the home team.

Sunday 18 February

5/4 Freiburg | Draw 47/20 | Eintracht Frankfurt 2/1 (16:30)

If Freiburg have any hopes of playing in European competition in the season to come, this matchup with Eintracht becomes “must win”. They are separated by four points and sit seventh and sixth respectively. This is one of the toughest games to call this weekend, I’m playing it safe with both teams to score (yes).

13/2 Bochum | Draw 46/10 | Bayern Munich 3/10 (18:30)

After last week’s heavy and demoralizing 3-0 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen, Bayern must pick themselves up. A matchup against a relegation threatened Bochum who have won just one fixture in their last four, Bayern could get the pick me up they’re looking for.

QUAD @ 4/1

Stuttgart Win 9/20

Bayer Leverkusen Win 7/20

Dortmund Win 12/10

Bayern Win 3/10
