PREVIEW: ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE

Arsenal and Liverpool both lose, City ascend to the summit (again) and the relegation scrap is well and truly a scrap now. Tell me you don’t absolutely love this League and everything it comes with!

Saturday 20 April

2/1 Luton | Draw 26/10 | Brentford 12/10 (16:00)

The win against Sheffield for Brentford was incredibly important! They aren’t quite out of the woods as yet, but they seem to be heading in the right direction with really positive results. Luton will know these are the sorts of games they need to pick up points in, playing City is a free hit, but against teams in similar positions they need to come away with something.

This is either going to be a really cagey affair or an absolute stinger…I’m leaning toward the latter and both teams scoring for me is the pick.

7/4 Sheffield | Draw 51/20 | Burnley 27/20 (16:00)

These two teams are all but gone. Sheffield have struggled and whilst I don’t see them just rolling over, they really do seem to be all bark and no bite. Burnley need a miracle, in order for them to stay up they pretty much need to replicate what they have managed all season in their next five games…

This could go either way, but I don’t think much of either side’s attacking ability and so under 2.5 goals is my play.

6/1 Wolves | Draw 39/10 | Arsenal 7/20 (20:30)

I don’t want to start feeding a nonexistent hype, but I don’t think this game is as straightforward as many might suspect. Wolves are incredibly well organized and can be difficult to break down at home.

Arsenal will know they need to attack the game, but I’m interested to see how they deal with the increase in pressure during these last few weeks of the League. The safest play for me is under 2.5 goals. I just don’t think it’ll be too open, and the longer Wolves stay relevant in the game, the more the pressure will build on their guests.

Sunday 21 April

17/20 Everton | Draw 26/10 | Nottm Forest 3/1 (14:30)

Everton at home can be another tricky old side to face. I know this is not how sport works, but after everything Everton have had to deal with, I hope they manage to stay in the league.

I really enjoy watching Forest play, they attack with confidence and have no qualms about playing football at a blistering pace. This could be a proper game of attack versus defence, and I think Forest are good value to come away with something.

Back them on the win/draw double chance.

12/10 C Palace | Draw 5/2 | West Ham 2/1 (16:00)

Jarrod Bowen’s injury continues to prove massively detrimental to West Ham. Palace on the other hand enjoy a full squad who will no doubt be absolutely buoyed by their victory over Liverpool.

Back the hosts to consolidate that victory with another one here.

15/20 Aston Villa | Draw 3/1 | Bournemouth 3/1 (16:00)

Bournemouth are a side full of attacking ability, and when they play in the right areas they can be devastating in front of goal! Villa is another side who can be lethal going forward and but for a rather inconsistent patch, they have enjoyed a massively progressive season.

I’m on the home win here.

42/10 Fulham | Draw 36/10 | Liverpool 5/10 (17:30)

Fulham blow hot and cold; they are so difficult to get behind simply because you never know which version you’re going to get. Liverpool will be hurting, and a wounded animal is almost always incredibly dangerous.

Salah hasn’t been at his best in recent weeks and Liverpool seemingly pay the price in their results. I still think they win this though.
