Bottom rooted Cape Town Spurs recorded their eighteenth loss and look to be set for the drop.

Here is this week’s DStv Premiership preview and predictions:

Friday 26 April

 9/4 Cape Town Spurs | Draw 17/10 | Richards Bay 13/10 (19:30)

Relegation-threatened Cape Town Spurs continued to drop points when they lost to high-flying Sekhukhune United and look to be sinking more into relegation. This was their fourth consecutive loss and will be looking to turn things around at the expense of Richards Bay FC.

The Natal Rich Boyz on the other hand recorded a monumental victory when they defeated Kaizer Chiefs 1-0 on Sunday. This was their second back-to-back victory which saw them extend the gap between them and Spurs to eight points. They need six more points to overtake 14th-place Moroka Swallows and clear off the drop zone. Spurs to win this clash.

Saturday April 27

21/20 AmaZulu | Draw 33/20 | Chippa United 29/10 (15:00)

Usuthu will be looking to regroup and move on from two losses suffered at the hands of Orlando Pirates. They face the daunting task of overcoming on-form Chippa United who have won all their previous four matches. They are desperate for a win and are seated too close to relegation. The Chilli Boys look to have turned things around scoring eight goals and keeping clean sheets across the last four fixtures. Goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali who had a great showing in the Africa Cup of Nations continued to impress in his side’s dominance which included beating teams like Kaizer Chiefs, TS Galaxy and SuperSport United. Back Chippa United to win.

27/20 Kaizer Chiefs | Draw 33/20 | SuperSport United 22/10 (17:30)

Amakhosi have only managed to collect one point in their recent five matches with one draw and four losses. Their last win was against Golden Arrows, and they have dropped to the tenth position in the standings. SuperSport United suffered a 2-0 defeat in their recent match against Chippa United which stressed their winless run to five matches which includes two draws and three defeats. They are desperate to turn things around to be able to finish in the top eight. SuperSport United to be victorious in this match.

1/1 Stellenbosch FC | Draw 7/4 | Polokwane 3/1 (20:00)

Stellenbosch FC showed character when they came from behind to beat TS Galaxy 2-1 to stretch their unbeaten run to 23 matches. They are three points clear of third-place Orlando Pirates and are in a good position to book their spot in the CAF Champions League.

Rise and Shine have suffered a dip in form having failed to secure a win in their past four matches and have conceded six goals in three matches. They face an uphill battle of ending Stellies long unbeaten run. Stellenbosch to win.

Sunday April 21

56/10 Royal AM | Draw 33/20 | Orlando Pirates 15/20 (15:00)

Royal AM are heading to this match at the back of a hard-fought 1-1 draw against their KwaZulu Natal rivals Golden Arrows. They failed to build from their 3-1 win against Polokwane City and have a difficult task ahead of them of overcoming the Soweto Giants.

The Buccaneers will be looking to bring tears to another KZN side after getting two consecutive victories from AmaZulu when they take on Royal AM. The last meeting between the two ended 4-2 in favour of Orlando Pirates. They are the stronger side in this clash and need a win to qualify for the CAF Champions League. Pirates to bag all three points.

8/10 Cape Town City FC | Draw 2/1 | Golden Arrows 7/2 (17:30)

Cape Town City failed to protect their 2-1 lead in their match against Polokwane. Their winless run has stretched to over ten matches and they have dropped to seventh on the log. Khanyisa Mayo has been instrumental in scoring goals for the Citizens, however, they have been failing to keep things solid at the back. Abafana Bes’thende showed character when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Royal AM. They will be aiming to get back to winning ways in a bid to finish in the top eight. This is expected to be a highly contested match as both sides are desperate for points. Golden Arrows to edge City.
