AC Milan

AC Milan returns to duty with a massive fixture on the cards as they welcome an old foe to the San Siro.  Despite Juventus having the better head-to-head record, Milan has been able to get the better of the Bianconeri across the last nine league fixtures with four wins, three draws, and two defeats.

Ahead of the international break taking place, Milan faced Champions League royalty in Real Madrid and walked away with another famous result after the match ended 3-1 in favour of Milan. That memorable performance was followed up by an underwhelming effort against Cagliari which saw both teams share the spoils in a 3-3 thriller.

Consistency has been a massive issue for the Rossoneri since the beginning of the 2024/25 season but it’s only a matter of time until Paulo Fonseca’s men click into gear and go on an unbeaten streak of their own after everything, they have been through in terms of coaching personnel.

Currently, Milan occupies the seventh spot in the log standings and is six points behind their visitors who sit in sixth place. The midfield battle will be a key area for Milan to take control of which they could do with players like Youssouf Fofana and Tijjani Reijnders.

Milan’s attacking threat is right up there with the very best and if they manage to dictate play and create scoring opportunities for the likes of Christian Pulisic, Rafael Leao, and Tammy Abraham, then I think they have a fair chance of winning this fixture, more so for the fact they are playing at the San Siro.

Juventus

It has to be said that Juventus looks more cohesive and balanced since the arrival of Thiago Motta. The former Bologna manager has come in and changed everything in a short space of time which has seen his team competing at the top of the table for league honours.

Juventus went into the international break unbeaten across their last five league fixtures, with three wins and two draws. Despite holding sixth position, they are behind league leaders Napoli by two points. The race for the Scudetto this season is wide open with the top six all in contention thus far.

Adding to this impressive run of form, Motta’s men are the only team in Serie A to remain unbeaten after 12 games. His impressive backline which includes Andrea Cambiaso, Pierre Kalulu, Federico Gatti, and Danilo has conceded a mere seven goals across the 12 games played.

This defensive record has seen players like Dusan Vlahovic, Timothy Weah, Kenan Yildiz, and Francisco Conceicao flourish because it allows them to focus and influence the game more in the final third. Amongst these attackers, they have scored 13 goals and accumulated eight assists.

The San Siro is a tough place to visit but with the way Motta got his team performing, Milan could be in for a tough battle. As mentioned before with Milan getting the better of Juve in recent times, this is a totally different, well-organised, and balanced Juventus team that is capable of earning maximum points on the day.

Prediction: Juventus to win.

This fixture will come down to fine margins as both clubs have the ability to claim maximum points on the day. Both clubs pose a serious threat going forward but with Juventus having such a solid defensive record, I see the Bianconeri walking away with the win.
