Mamelodi Sundowns suffered a shock 1-0 defeat away to Polokwane City in their Betway Premiership clash on Sunday.
Bulelani Nikani scored the only goal of the game at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium after 82 minutes.
The result left the Brazilians in second place on the league standings and behind leaders Orlando Pirates by three points.
Polokwane moved up to fourth with their third win of the season, from five games.
City had started on the front foot with Cole Alexander surging through on goal, only to be thwarted by an onrushing Denis Onyango.
Rushine De Reuck was in with an early chance for the Brazilians following surging run but he saw his cross blocked.
De Reuck then got forward to connect to a Marcelo Allende corner but steered his shot wide of the target.
Onyango was quick off his line soon after to stop Oswin Appollis from stealing in, as Hlayisa Chauke wasted a chance to put the home side ahead on the half hour mark with a shot he put wide inside the box.
The next best chance fell to Iqraam Rayners in the 60th minute but he failed to properly connect to a ball from Teboho Mokoena.
Bonginkosi Dhlamini really should have buried his chance when put through by Appollis while Chauke wasted his 66th minute header.
Thabang Matuludi then drilled a 72th minute on target that was well saved by Onyango, but the Sundowns stopper could do nothing to keep out a smart finish from Nikani late on that ultimately secured the three points for the home team.
