Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane wants to etch his name in African football folklore by clinching the CAF Champions League.
Mosimane will be looking to guide the Brazilians to glory in the prestigious cup continental competition in the final against Zamalek.
Sundowns will host the Egyptians in the first leg at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday before travelling to the North African nation for the second leg on 23 October.
“We spent time and resources preparing for this. The Champions League is big history. It is legacy, and this is what inspires me,” Mosimane told KickOff.
“We have been playing for nine months. We have prepared on training pitches where the grass is knee high. We have spent six to eight hours in transit. The referees are different.
“In domestic competition, we know the referees and their style. Comparing the Champions League with the domestic cups – not that they are not important – is like chalk and cheese.
“Our plan is simply unfolding. We played against Zamalek home and away and won both games. It is all about the mentality – how we think about it.
“We have a fair chance home and away, but critically, it is important to score away and to make sure our opponents do not score on our home ground.”
