Newly-signed Orlando Pirates midfielder Goodman Mosele has only played four games but already looks a key member of Bucs’ setup.
The 21-year-old Mosele started his football career at Stillfontein Real Hearts then joined Baroka FC in 2016 going on to be voted Young Player of the Year for the 2019–20 season.
In 2021 he joined Pirates and has kept up his fine form at his new club.
In an exclusive interview with Orlandopiratesfc.com, Mosele says he did not expect to be thrown into the Pirates team so soon after signing but had grabbed his opportunity and was thriving.
“I didn’t think the opportunity to start games would come so soon,” Mosele said. “I expected to spend some time adapting to the team’s style, but the chance came and I grabbed it.
“I’m encouraged by how I’ve performed,” added the 21-year-old. “All I can say is if you work hard, things will go well for you. Yeah, I’m quite proud of how I’ve played so far and I want to continue doing well.”
Pirates are up against defending champions Sundowns in a DStv Premiership meeting at Orlando Stadium (15:00) on Saturday and Mosele says they need to play well and try to get the upper hand on Saturday.
“It’s important that we play well on Saturday. Whichever team gels well will have the upper hand. It’s a big game, and we’re up for it,” he said.
