Pablo Franco Martin says AmaZulu have “huge expectations” as he prepares to start his second season with the club.
Martin led Usuthu to an 11th placed finish in the 2023/24 league campaign.
But as he prepares to kick off his side’s Betway Premiership season, the head coach revealed their target to finish in the top four this time around.
Martin has been hard at work preparing his team for their opening game against Polokwane City on September 14.
He told the Sowetan: “I am really excited for my second season at AmaZulu.
“We have huge expectations this season. We know it’s going to be tough but we are also confident. We know what we are capable of.
“We learnt a lot of lessons from last season, so we are going to use those lessons to make sure we finish in the top four.
“We trust the quality of our players and our capacity as the technical team. Also, with the support of our fans, we are sure that we will be better than last season.”
AmaZulu have made seven new signings ahead of the new season, namely Kwanda Mngonyama, Luvuyo Phewa, Etiosa Ighodaro, Boniface Haba, Senzo Ndlovu, Leonardo Roy, and Thato Matli.
Matli and Roy will, however, sent out on loan for the 2024/24 campaign.
