Orlando Pirates Part Ways with Seven Players in Squad Overhaul

The Buccaneers ended a 14-year wait for the South African top-flight title by edging out perennial champions Mamelodi Sundowns to win the 2025/26 crown.

With the new season fast approaching, head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou is assessing his playing staff and has started a player clear-out.

Star midfielder Relebohile Mofokeng has already left to join Royale Union Saint-Gilloise, while Bandile Shandu, Sipho Mbule, Tshegofatso Mabasa, Karim Kimvuidi and Deivi Miguel Vieira have all already departed.

The latest departures include the following seven players, who have since found other clubs, namely: “Thabiso Sesane (Siwelele), Selaelo Rasebotja (Siwelele), Siyabonga Ndlozi (Sekhukhune), Gomolemo Khoto (Sekhukhune), Sonwabo Khumalo (Midlands), Blessing Ngiba (Midlands) and Seth Green (Durban City).

A Pirates statement read: “Orlando Pirates Football Club can confirm movements around the team ahead of the start of the new season.
