Orlando Pirates defender Deon Hotto says “It’d be amazing to win the [MTN8} final on Saturday”.
The Buccaneers have won the past two MTN8 titles, beating Mamelodi Sundowns 3-1 on penalties in last season’s final and AmaZulu 1-0 the year before.
Hotto’s side take on Stellenbosch at the Moses Mabhida Stadium at the weekend as they aim to become the first team to win the competition three times in a row.
Pirates come into this tie on the back of a hard-fought 1-0 Betway Premiership win away to Richards Bay.
Hotto said in the Sowetan: “It’d be amazing to win the final on Saturday because it’d be our third time in a row.
“I think no club has done that before, so we would cherish the moment for the rest of our lives.
“We need to win this one.”
Hotto added: “Stellenbosch are a difficult team to break down. They also have speed, so to outshine them we need to be at our best and put in our best performance to date.”
