Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou predicts dramatic finish to Betway Premiership title race

Abdeslam Ouaddou left Frustrated by ”missed chances” as Mamelodi Sundowns chip away at Pirates’ advantage

Mamelodi Sundowns were held to a 1-1 draw in their most recent match with Kaizer Chiefs to sit just three points clear of Pirates, who have a game in hand.

Both sides have dropped points in the league race in recent weeks and Bucs must have thought their title hopes were dashed following their 1-1 stalemate with Amakhosi.

Ouaddou’s side now have a great chance to make up some vital ground against a struggling Magesi, currently fighting a relegation battle in last place on the league standings with just four wins all season.

But Sundowns are also in action this weekend and will look for maximum points in their Premiership tie with Siwelele.

Speaking ahead of their weekend encounter, the Bucs boss said in the Citizen: “This season we’ve tried to bring more competitiveness. I think the boys really did well.

“Let’s see what the result will be at the end of this season. But the most important thing is to be competitive until the end.

“So for us, the dream is still here. The players are going to fight, and it’s possible.

“Like I said at the beginning of the season, to fight until the last game and maybe the people will know the champion only after the last game.”
