The draw for the competition was held on 7 August with the Sea Robbers drawn to come up against Highlands Park.

In other fixtures in the quarter-finals due to take place on the weekend of 17 August – Mamelodi Sundowns take on Bloemfontein Celtic, Cape Town City face Polokwane City whereas Bidvest Wits clash against SuperSport United.

Jele told reporters: “Obviously we’re a big team – Orlando Pirates competes for every cup, so this one we just want to go out and compete and we’ll see where we finish.

“But our ambition is to go to the last game of the competition, which is the final of course, but the important part is to focus on the first game against Highlands Park.

“Yeah, I think to get a silverware [early on] will serve as motivation for everyone in the team to do well in the season ahead, because this one is only four games to play.

“So, we just have to focus on that and try to win it if we can but, like I said, the first thing is to focus on the first game because it’s very important.

“Last year we lost out to SuperSport United on penalties in the first round, so this year we want to proceed to the next game.”

The venues, dates and times for the MTN8’s last eight are yet to be confirmed but will be made known in the near future.
