Orlando Pirates Bolster Defense with Van Rooyen Signing

Orlando Pirates have strengthened their defensive line-up with the acquisition of Deano Van Rooyen from Stellenbosch FC

The 27-year-old right-back has penned a three-year deal with the Soweto giants, with an additional two-year option.

“Orlando Pirates Football Club Is pleased to announce the signing of Deano van Rooyen from Stellenbosch FC,” a club statement said.

Van Rooyen, a seasoned campaigner in the DStv Premiership, has been a consistent performer for Stellenbosch.

His experience and ability to contribute both defensively and offensively make him a valuable addition to the Pirates squad.

The move comes as Pirates look to build on their recent successes and challenge for domestic and continental honors.

Van Rooyen’s signing is seen as a strategic step to enhance the team’s competitiveness and depth as they look to lift the PSL trophy this season.
