Swallows FC midfielder Musa Nyatama urges defender Dillon Solomons, who recently joined Kaizer Chiefs, to stay humble after his big move.
The 23-year-old Solomons joined AmaKhosi on Monday from the Dube Birds – having been one of the star players they helped Swallows to end up surviving in the top flight after being subjected to playing for their survival in the PSL Relegation playoffs.
The defender was part of a number of players to be unveiled by Chiefs on Monday, namely – Chiefs’ reserve team’s Mduduzi Shabalala, AmaZulu FC’s Siyethemba Sithebe and Swallows teammates Kamohelo Mahlatsi and Lehlogonolo.
In an interview on social media platform Twitter, Nyatama said Solomons is up for the challenge of playing at the higher level at Chiefs but advises him to remain humble and try to be himself.
“My advice would be for him to continue to stay humble and be disciplined as he has been throughout the season,” Nyatama said.
“Also, what I like about him is his versatility. He is very versatile, can play left and right-wing at the back. So, my advice for him would be to continue to be disciplined and be dedicated to his work.”
Nyatama adds he believes Solomons will be able to handle the notorious love/hate pressure he will endure from The Phefeni Boys fans.
“Dealing with the fans it’s a difficult one, but I’m sure he has been there. Throughout his career he has been dealing with the fans from Cape Town and Johannesburg. But for him he must just stay humble,” Nyatama said.
