A staggering total of 25 goals were scored across the seven games that were played last weekend.

What a gameweek that was! A staggering total of 25 goals were scored across the seven games that were played. This equates to an average of just over three goals per game, which must be music to punters’ ears if they got on the Totals market. We could be in for another free-scoring weekend as there are a whole host of ‘David versus Goliath’ clashes taking place during gameweek 17.

Saturday 15 July

7/2 Sogndal | Draw 26/10 | Rosenborg 7/10 (15:30)

Rosenborg underlined their credentials of champions elect last week as they put Sandefjord to the task, banging in five goals while only conceding one. Sogndal, on the other hand, have endured a miserable run of form which has seen them only claim victory once in their last four outings. They come into this one off the back of a 1-1 draw with fellow strugglers Viking. While you may not be getting even money or more here, the away side win is an absolute gift and should be taken without hesitation!

19/20 Lillestrom | 5/2 | Stabaek 51/20 (18:00)

Saturday’s final fixture pits 10th-placed Lillestrom up against fifth-placed Stabaek. The visitors have arrested a horrid run of form over the past fortnight, snapping a three-game losing streak with back-to-back victories. Their most recent win came against second-placed Brann in gameweek 16. Lillestrom, while involved in the game of the week, had to settle for a 3-3 draw away to Sarpsborg in gameweek 16. Both of these teams have solid goal scoring records with Lillestrom scoring 23 goals from their 16 matches and Stabaek scoring 24 from their 16. With stats like that staring me in the face, I can’t help but tip the Totals – Over 2.5 – Goals market at 6/10!

Sunday 16 July

11/10 Haugesund | 47/20 | Aalesunds 23/10 (18:00)

It’s a rather heavy fixture list this Sunday with five games set to take place, four of which will kick-off simultaneously at 6pm. The first game we’ll take a look at is the clash between Haugesund and Aalesunds. Only goal difference separates these two mid-table sides on the log, so both will be desperate to get the win and advance their chances of sneaking a European play-off berth. The visitors come into this one off the back of a 3-0 loss to Molde while the hosts were out of action last week with their fixture being postponed. I quite fancy Haugesund to claim the point here. They’ve produced a solid string of results, and at 11/10 they’re certainly worth a punt!

7/10 Odds BK | 26/10 | Viking 15/4 (18:00)

The bookies are very strong on the home win here and which is quite a surprise considering the hosts haven’t managed a win in their last five fixtures. Their confidence is more to do with the away side’s poor form, as Viking have only managed two wins from their 16 games. I’m going to side with the bookies here and tip the home win. Yes, Odds have been struggling for results but cellar-dwellers Viking offer an ideal opportunity for them to end their winless streak. Get on the home win at 7/10!

23/20 Sandefjord | 47/20 | Tromso 22/10 (18:00)

Sandefjord will be looking to bounce back from their humiliating 5-1 defeat to Rosenborg when they play host to a Tromso side who had the last gameweek off due to their fixture with Odds BK being postponed. I’m going to avoid the straight win market here as these sides are way too evenly matched for my liking. Instead, my money is going on the Both Teams to Score – Yes – market which is available at 13/20.

8/10 Molde | 26/10 | Stromgodset 29/10 (18:00)

Molde host Stromgodset this Sunday in what should be a thrilling encounter. The home side come into this match in great form, winning three of their last four matches, drawing once. Stromgodset haven’t been as exciting to watch, especially away from home where they have failed to win in all eight games. Molde are joint-second in the Norwegian league and are tipped to claim maximum points here.

1/1 Brann | 24/10 | Sarpsborg 51/20 (20:00)

Saturday’s fixtures list will come to a close with a tie between second-placed Brann and third-placed Sarpsborg. The visitors come into this one off the back of a disappointing 3-3 draw with Lillestrom while the hosts come into this one off a surprise loss to Stabaek. Both of these teams have struggled for results of late with the duo only winning one of their last five fixtures. As such, the straight win market should be avoided. Instead, I’m going to have a go on the Totals – Under 2.5 Goals – at 8/10.

Monday 17 July

7/4 Kristiansund | 23/10 | Vaerenga 14/10 (19:00)

Kristiansund and Vaerenga will bring the curtain down on gameweek 17 when they square off on Monday evening. The hosts come into this one off the back of a 4-2 defeat to Stromgodset while the visitors make the trip rather fresh after their game with Haugesund was called off. Seven places separate the sides on the log with Vaerenga occupying seventh spot and Kristiansund sitting in 14th. There’s a huge gulf in quality here and I expect Vaerenga to put it to good use. Get on the away win at 14/10!

TREBLE @ 6/1

Rosenborg Win 7/10

Molde Win 8/10

Vaerenga Win 14/10
