There’s some decent value on offer in the Norwegian Eliteserien with great tips in our preview. |
Normal service resumes this week with a full set of Eliteserien fixtures for us to look forward to. The international break saw a few of the leagues big name players in action and we may see some of the coaches give their internationals stars the week off. This could prove a blessing for punters who are inclined to back a long shot or two.
Saturday 17 June
15/10 Kristiansund BK | Draw 43/20 | Aalesunds 7/4 (18:00)
First up we have 15th-placed Kristiansund taking on high-flyers Aalesund in Saturday’s only fixture. The visitors come into this one off the back of a 1-0 home loss to Haugesund, while the hosts went down 2-1 to fellow relegation candidates Viking in the last set of fixtures. Both of these teams of conceding an average of over a goal per game which leads one to think the Totals – Over 1.5 – Goals market an absolute banker – it may not be the best value floating around at 3/10 but it’s definitely one for the multiples.
Sunday 18 June
5/2 Sanderfjord Fotball | 47/20 | Sarpsborg 1/1 (18:00)
On to Saturday now and our first game sees 12th-placed Sanderfjord take on second-placed Sarpsborg. The visitors are unbeaten in their last five outings, winning three and drawing four. Conversely, the hosts have lost three of their last five. The away side should have way too much firepower here, and represent great value at even money.
31/10 Haugesund | 51/20 | Rosenberg 8/10 (18:00)
League leaders Rosenberg make the trip to Haugesund on Saturday. The visitors have only lost a solitary game this term but have drawn three of their last five fixtures. While Rosenberg have struggled to bag victories in recent weeks, Haugesund have managed to get four points out of their last two fixtures. My money is firmly on Rosenberg to win here – get on at 8/10!
7/10 Molde | 28/10 | Tromso 34/10 (18:00)
Our next fixture sees seventh-placed Molde take on a Tromso side who have lost two of their last three. Their poor run of form has seen them drop into the relegation play-off position and they will be desperate to move away from the bottom end of the log before the season reaches its midway point. While Molde have been getting the results, they haven’t been able to keep clean sheets. As such, I’m going to get on the Matchbet & Both Teams to Score – Molde & Yes – at a kind 2/1.
17/20 Lillestrom | 5/2 | Viking 29/10 (18:00)
Next up we have fallen giants Lillestrom playing host to cellar-dwellers Viking. The visitors make the trip off the back of a victory over Kristiansund while the hosts’ last two fixtures have seen them register two wins. This is certainly a leftfield call, but my money is on Viking causing a shock here. They were impressive against Kristiansund and I feel their run of good results will continue here.
19/10 Sognal IL | 9/4 | Odds BK 27/20 (18:00)
Saturday’s penultimate fixture will see two of the best named sides in the league go head-to-head in a mid-table clash. Sognal have been in impressive form of late and have won three of their last five games. Odds Bk, on the other hand, have failed to register a win in their last three matches. I’m going to stay away from the outright winner market here as I can’t really separate the sides. Instead, my money is on the Totals – Over 2.5 Goals – market which can be found at 19/20.
19/20 Vaerenga | 5/2 | Stromgodset 5/2 (18:00)
Vaerenga and Stromgodset lock horns in one of six 18h00 Saturday clashes. The hosts have registered three wins in their last five outings, while the visitors have lost three of their last five. I’ve kept this one short and sweet as my mind was made up as to which market I was backing as soon as I saw the amount of goals both sides have conceded – Vaerenga have shipped 18 in 12 matches while Stromgodset have leaked 19 in 12 games. Once again, my money is firmly on the Totals – Over 2.5 Goals market!
Monday 19 June
13/20 SK Brann | 28/10 | Stabaek 38/10 (19:00)
Our final fixture for the gameweek sees SK Brann – who should consider changing their nickname to ‘The Serial Killers’ – play host to Stabaek. The hosts are unbeaten in their last five while the visitors come into this one off the back of consecutive defeats. SK Brann are my banker for the weekend. And while they are rather short at 13/20, it still represents great value for all you multiple hunters out there.
TREBLE @ 5/1
Sarpsborg Win 1/1
Rosenberg Win 8/10
SK Brann Win 13/20
