Nkosingiphile Ngcobo ready to contribute to Kaizer Chiefs cause

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Nkosingiphile Ngcobo insists he’s working hard every day to rediscover his best form.

The 24-year-old made the step up from the Amakhosi reserve side to the first team way back in 2018 but it was in the 2020/21 campaign where he really began to show his quality.

Ngcobo played 40 times in all competitions that season, as Chiefs reached the final of the CAF Champions League.

He has, however, struggled with injury more recently and last term only managed 16 appearances.

This term he started on the sidelines but has featured in the past four DStv Premiership matches, under interim coach Cavin Johnson.

Ngcobo has reportedly been offered a new contract by Chiefs.

He said on iDiski Times: “I have a contract with Kaizer Chiefs, I’m working hard and I’m focusing on the next game to get three points and I can say my blood is Gold and Black.

“Yes, I’ve had challenges with some injuries, but now I’m back, focused and I want to make sure I stay fit and play more games.”

Ngcobo added: “Everyone is doing their best and doing everything to make sure the team gets maximum points and playing well – as I was sitting on the sidelines, I was preparing myself so that when I get a chance to play I can try and help the team.”
