Neymar believes Lucas Moura was treated unfairly and should never have been pushed out of the club |
Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar believes his Brazilian compatriot Lucas Moura was treated unfairly and should never have been pushed out of the club.
Moura is close to completing his move to Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur after struggling to find opportunities in the French capital this campaign.
The 25-year-old winger didn’t start a single Ligue 1 game this season, and PSG manager Unai Emery made it clear that it would be best if Moura pursued his career elsewhere.
Neymar is disappointed with the way his friend has been treated at PSG and believes it’s a mistake to let him leave.
“I’m sad, because he’s a good friend, he’s a quality player who was rarely used,” Neymar told reporters, according to Goal.
“I think it’s very unfair. He is my brother in football. I wish him the best. Whatever the destination, I hope he will score a lot and he will return to the Brazilian national team.”
Neymar added: “He’s not just a friend, he’s a very good guy. Here he could have been used a lot more but I’m not the owner of the team, not the owner of Paris. For me, he should never have left Paris.”
