Wilfred Ndidi says he will be fit to play for Nigeria at the upcoming World Cup in Russia.
The powerful midfielder suffered a hamstring injury while in action for Leicester City against Crystal Palace at the end of the Premier League season and missed the last two matches for his club.
Ndidi has more recently missed out on the opening few days of the Super Eagles’ training camp in Nigeria.
The 47-placed nation, on FIFA’s rankings, will kick-start their World Cup campaign in Group D against Croatia, and play Iceland and Argentina in their last two matches.
Ndidi told All Nigeria Soccer: “Yes, by God’s grace.
“I will say I am good and fine. I am looking forward to the World Cup. We have so many friendly games, we have been preparing so hard not just now, and we’ve been preparing for a long time.
“We just look forward to it and then go all the way for it, every game is very important.
“All I have to say is for them to keep supporting the Super Eagles and then pray for the team, just sit down, relax and enjoy the football.”
